How much does it cost to become a member of Tampa Covenant Homeschoolers?
Tampa Covenant Homeschoolers charges an annual membership fee of $50 per family. This fee covers administrative costs, liability insurance, website fees, and background checks for all teachers and parent volunteers. Approximately 30 days after your membership is approved, you will be invoiced for the membership fee via email.
Costs for field trips, classes, and events are unique to each event and are published ahead of time so that families have the information they need as they choose to participate or not.
Is this a drop-off program?
Yes, as long as your child is registered for and attending a class the entire time they are on campus. We offer a class during every hour and a lunch supervision option, too. If there is not a class you are interested in at a certain time, there is a "Study Hall" option for every hour until 2:15. Students may only be unsupervised in the 5 minutes between classes. For any class period during which a student is not registered for a class, the parent must return to campus to supervise their student.
The hybrid program is a drop-off program.
What about payment and payment schedules? Do you accept the SUFS scholarships?
You can find answers to these questions and more on the "Payment Details" page, at THIS LINK.
What about security? Will my child be safe on campus?
All doors to and from the campus courtyard are locked at all times. Students and parents must have a code to get into the buildings. The instructors, Campus Administrator, and church office have a walkie-talkie system to communicate potential threats.
Is there a volunteer requirement?
The individual classes have no volunteer requirement (4th - 12th Grades).
The hybrid program requires parent volunteers (Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade). You can learn more about the volunteer requirement of the hybrid program in the class descriptions for these classes at THIS LINK.
What is the technology / media policy?
When a class requires the use of technology (computers are required for the Canva class, for instance), the required technology is allowed in that class. During Study Halls, technology is allowed for completing school work only, and screens must face the Study Hall supervising adult. Screens of every kind are prohibited during Lunch Bunch, between classes, and in classes that do not require screens. Sharing screens is prohibited at all times. Instructors are free to make their own rules for their individual classes. (For instance, some instructors allow music on phones with headphones.) Screens being shared, or being used when they are prohibited, will be confiscated and returned only to the parent.
